New Project: 30 Day Photo Challenge

22 Sep

I asked, you answered – most people voted in my poll to see my next 30-Day project be the 30 Day Photo Challenge!

To be honest, that’s the one I wanted to do anyway.

Here’s the deal: It’s part of a group photo challenge. Every day you post a photo according to the guidelines, below. Each day’s photo is about a different thing. When possible, you will take the photo each day; but of course some of them (such as memories and photos of a particular person you aren’t with that day) lend themselves to using previous photos. I think it will be a fun challenge. I will be posting the photos daily in my Facebook 30 Day Photo Challenge album, and of course compiling them every few days here on my blog.

Here is my first photo for Day One – a self-portrait photo, with 10 facts about yourself:

To start the photo challenge, I thought it was really fun to experiment with self-portraits through photography. I’ve never really done this before, except for the “one-armed” photo of myself while traveling, or with others at events, etc. For this self portrait, I looked at a cool site or two to get ideas, and had fun with making some photography self-portraits. Here are my top runner-up photos that I didn’t end up using:

First thing in the morning - no makeup, clothes or anything. As real as I get.

So much fun! Haven't jumped on the bed since I was about 12!

Feeling a little Fiona Apple...

A few of my favorite things...

This was the "hide your face" artistic shot. Didn't turn out as cool as I'd hoped.

Tried writing out my "ten facts" - kind of like this shot.

And here are the guidelines for each day’s photos, which you will see coming up in this challenge:

Day 01 – A picture of yourself with ten facts

Day 02 – A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

Day 03 – A picture of the cast from your favorite show
